It is hard when you do the same thing day after day. I know a bit about what
your dad is going through. There are days I feel trapped (as a stay at home
mom). The "daily grind" is never what we all envisioned for our
futures when we were younger.
Be there for him, as much as you can. I don't know your situation other than
what you said, and I don't know your dad. So I will say advice on the other side
(from experience) don't be his "dumping" ground either. There's a
middle, I hope you can find that.
From what you said he does need a change in his life. Either getting out with
the guys, a new hobby, something a little out of the ordinary to look forward
to. (I've done a similar thing to keep "sane".) I'd bet if he and your
mom took a serious look at the budget, they'd find a bit of $ to help him get a
new hobby or something like that. My family and I always find a bit of
"fun" money, even when things are really tight, to help have something
to look forward to. (There's been times when it's a whopping $10 a month - but
its something.)
As far as your parents supposedly being always able to talk and work things out
because they love each other. The talk is needed. But know that sometimes the
people you love most can be the hardest to make yourself talk to. Sometimes it
just takes a while to figure out how to say what you need to. Especially if you
don't want to hurt the people you need to talk to. Just a guess here, but saying
that he's frustrated with the "daily grind", could potentially hurt
your mom, you and your sister. But I'd bet she can take hearing it. I think your
dad made a big step just speaking to you. From what I've seen the problems that
seem the biggest seem to be even bigger if you don't feel you can talk about
them. If he's starting to talk - let him. Maybe even find a way where you and
your sister can be out of the house, so he and your mom and talk. (Just a
thought).
What your dad is going through, is actually pretty normal. There is always more
than what is initially said when people start to talk, so I'll stop babbling
here like I know all of what is going on and hope that I've hit the important
things. Keep your chin up, dear.
hmm - of late - it's jsut trying to help my friend going through a divorce.
(It's ugly). Listening to what she's going through often makes me cry. I just
hope that I am helping by listening.
I used to think I was totally unfem...but then I had an arguement with a guy
friend and realized how many "girl" things I do... o.O; so I had to
"up" my vote when I voted here...
hmmm... Other anime crushes have come and gone. But I have thought Sousuke from
Full Metal Panic was just to drool over - since the series first came out.
Shigure! I love to joke around alot like he does. If I couldn't be him
(cause... well... I'm a girl) - then - I'd just have to be able to flirt with
him! <3 <3
Well - it took years for my little bro and I to get along. (this sibling
rivalry thing all started just after he was born and I told mom and dad to take
him back!) But we cn be civilized now that we've both grown up and we live
about 2000 miles away from each other.
Ranger . I prefer to shoot at a distance and sneak up on "victims", I
won't be told what to do and love to track. (In fact that's what I'm playing
right now - and thoroughly enjoying it). Fits me to a tee.
hmm - I also have to say that my fave songs aren't from my fave anime.
My fave songs are Jouhou (from E's otherwise) and Stray (from Wolf's rain). But
my fave anime is Full Metal Panic. From FMP my fave song is the opening
"Tomrorow".
I just found a few good sites with PSP brushes. Thought I'd share. (Since
there doesn't seem to be as much help here for PSP as PS.) (Tutorials link - MT PSP tutorials Post

[edit - I must have been too slow - two people posted before I did.. This was
on chisana's av. I think I did Makhan's once already...]
subject - very cute - 3
discerability - can see eyes, hair, and clothing well (but other facial features
not so well) - 1.5
color scheme - pleasant pastels - 3
overall - very nice (and particularly cute) - 7.5
(i like how Revue did her rating - so I followed suit.)

I love seeing all the avs and the styles. Gives me lots of ideas!
I'm here again so I can see what people will think of the new avy - hand colored
from b&w dragon mag scan.
hmm - I have to sit and think on this. It is cute and interesting that the
whole face isn't chosen. But I also find it hard to distinguish the character
from others becuase it is just a section of a face. It is simple - and I like
simple. It would be nice if it appeared a little clearer too (hard to get
clarity in small avs tho...) I will give it a 7.5 out of 10.
hmm - its interesting as one on the other side of this to see what ya'll have
said. I am a parent. Probably a bit on the unusual side - because I like anime
alot (tho I am picky about what I watch and what my child watches). I
introduced my son to anime (Fruits Basket - tho he won't see all the episodes
till he's older). I hope as a parent to share things we enjoy - anime, legos,
etc and keep communication with him (maybe this is a far ferched dream - but I
will try).
Would any of you sit and watch anime with your parents? (Granted I accept the
fact that most of us are just hopeless and we try but often don't get it. o.O;)
(Also note my parents think I'm crazy for liking anime at my "age".
)
We have an English Angora rabbit. He's a big fuzz-ball. He's the first rabbit
I've ever had and I like him alot (but he's not easy to take care of because of
his long fur - it mats so easy). I love how the long fur on his ears makes the
tips bend over. He looks so silly. We like to let him out of his cage and run
around - he even tought us a few games. (Angoras are a little smarter than the
average rabbit).
hmm... not sure of all time fave. But my latest band I listen to alot is Asian
Kung Fu Generation (before these guys - I'd never spent $30 on a Cd - I'm too
cheap!) Othere I like are much older american stuff - VanHalen (must have Sammy
in the band...), U2, Creed, and Rush.
hmm - it makes me gigle that a some would consider me old (32). I love anime
and carefully choose what I let my son watch. He's seen most of fruits basket
with me and asks all the time to watch it. He's almost old enough for Tokyo
underground and I can't wait to share it with him.
I have a good friend that is 45 or 46 -when we get togther and talk anime it's
funny cause it's like no one else around us exists.
i have yet to convince my parents about anime... (sigh) (resistance is futile -
you will be assimilated...)
For me - it was the full RK manga set - in Japanese, shipped from Japan. (I'd
seen the anime - but hated the ending - so I had to have the manga to see how it
really ended!)

Paint Shop Pro 7
i played with the demo of PS - but didn't have time to sink into learning much. ;(
wah - and I picked now to rate the sig above me? this will be tough because it's better than mine!
to me (the noob) I can't think of anything to pick on about it. it's well done, and I love the reflective sfx. I'd hve to give it atleast a 9/10.
/Avlor tilts her head and lootks at her avatar again.
quite true...the circuit board effect only works well ion bigger avatars doesn't it? Thanks for the honest opinion.

hmm - depends on how I need to destress...
If I just don't want to think about stuff anymore
- surf the internet
- watch anime or read manga
- chat online or play in a forum
- work on a wall
If I need to figure things out:
- write
- spin (as in make string), weave or embroider
